VOLUNTEER SERVICE PROJECT

Millbrook is looking for people or groups to host dinners for the staff on Saturdays throughout the summer.

LHU or LH Hospital provides food Monday-Friday.

Dates needed are June 14 and July 5 for one meal – supper.

If enough AAUW members were willing and available, we would need to make dishes in disposable containers and have a few people to serve. It would be good publicity.

Please contact Michelle Long
by phone 748-6994
or email michlong1@comcast.net
ASAP

FOR THE GOOD

OF THE ORGANIZATION

2008-2009 Programs

If you have a special program or tour you would like to hear or see,
please e-mail Diane (missmarple19@yahoo.com).

Several good suggestions were provided at the last meeting.  Also, if a member would like to host the September meeting, please let Diane know.  A meeting of minds will be held in June to look over all suggestions.

From the EF Chair...

We have received a number of applications for graduate and undergraduate educational aid, to be awarded by our Branch in July.

Undergraduate educational aid is to help women whose education has been interrupted and who wish to follow a vocation for which a four-year college degree will be required.

The undergraduate applicant must be at least three years beyond high school graduation and accepted for the 2007-2008 academic year at an accredited college or university in a bachelor's degree program.  In addition, she will have been in college when her studies were interrupted, having earned at least a quarter of the credits required for the degree.

An applicant for graduate educational aid must have been accepted at an accredited college or university in a graduate degree program and have been a resident of Clinton County for at least 4 years, not only as a student at LHU.

$6000.00 is available for scholarships this year.

I will be contacting members to help in the selection process.

Beth Brobst, EF Chair
