Lock Haven, PA

Andie Bennett, President

Musings from Andie

Dear Branch Members,

Hello, one and all.  This is your President coming your way.  I know it's cold and that we are all suffering from various degrees of frostbite, but just think, it might not get any worse.  (I am always willing to do my fair weather dance in the parking lot of Kephart Plaza--just like the Indians.)

Anyways, we are having a program about sign language in March which should be very interesting in case we ever get a case of laryngitis.  And even if we don't get laryngitis it just might come in handy some day.  I'm looking forward to it and I hope we have a good turn-out.

We have to get organized for the bloodmobile and we will soon be working at the book sale.  I just know all you able-bodied, red-blooded women have signed up to help.  That, or we get after you.

I am freezing here in the Piper Museum where I work and instead of fooling around with my display project I'm typing this letter.  I figure I'll thaw out in time for baseball season.

See you at the next meeting.  Also, we will be presenting Bobbie Jo Simcox with the Gateway to Equity award and I hope you will be there.  She deserves it.

Sincerely,

                           Andie

Book Club Reminder

April meeting and book club discussion "Where the Heart Is" by Billie Letts.  An Ophra Book Club book that is moving, funny, and takes you on an unforgettable journey of a 17 year old, 7 months pregnant, left stranded at a Wal-Mart in Sequoyah, OK with little money and knowing no-one.  Though some members have already read this book and I understand it was a made for TV show, we hope you will join in on the discussion.  There are several copies available at Ross Library and my copy will soon be available to pass around should you wish not to purchase it.
