A Letter from Laura

Wishing everyone of you the very merriest holiday season!

Many of our members have been celebrating together already.  The Community Christmas Concert was a good, early "get in the mood" event.  It was delightful!  Thanks to our friends and family members who work all year in preparation for the inspiring concert.  Afterwards the wine and cheese tasting at Shaffer's Winery turned into quite a party.  It was very festive and "spirited."  It was so nice to have casual fun time to be together.  The Millers were very gracious and helpful in our selections. Ummmm, I was the last to leave, hic.

There was a good turnout at the Ichiban Steakhouse.  The flames shot high in the air as the Asian chefs prepared our meal with their knives clinking as they juggled them and made an impressive show of it all.  It was a unique dining experience that was all the more fun because we shared it as a group with friends.  We were delighted to have Charlene Blanchard, a member from Williamsport who isn't able to get to many meetings with us.

The downtown Lock Haven Parade was great fun.  It wasn't too cold but the free cocoa and donuts were welcome treats.  I was serving at the booth at Triangle Park.  Were you there?

Now it is on with the shopping and decorating and baking.

I am going to be at home much of this season.  My tenants will all move out by mid-December.  Give me a call and come see my beautiful tree.  I will put on the coffee.

Love and Peace,  Laura

Happy

Holidays

January Meeting

We will meet for a tour of the communication center on January 8th (Sat.) at 10:00 a.m. at the rear of Susqueview (at the dock doors).  Andie will be there 15 minutes early to direct us to the correct spot.  She will need a count early in January so the callers will be contacting members on December 30th to find out who plans to attend.  We will meet for lunch at Ruby Tuesdays following the tour and order from the menu.

Write-Read-Write Program

The program Write-Read-Write will begin in January when I visit two fifth grade classes at Dickey Elementary School.

Since we have not had regular meetings, I have not been able to ask which members will be participating this year.  I would like to have an idea of a number by December 18.

Please let me know if you're going to buy a book for a student.  I will be able to give you a student interest letter at our January 8th meeting.  Following that meeting the children will read their books and write letters sharing what they liked about them.

Please DO NOT buy a book until you receive the student interest letter.

Thanks.
